Dirty Hundy #1

Kat met Mike, Paul and John for the Parkersburg leg of the Hundy. The guys had 32 miles in at that point. Clear, sunny, breezy day - plans for Traer changed with the sub-zero wind chills to go south - so west with cross winds was the plan.

On the road - John leading the way heading west from Parkersburg and then up towards Aplington. Gravel was in great condition - good riding.

Paul hanging tough on his Specialized Stumpjumper while the rest of us were on 'cross bikes. Way to ride Paul and to bring it home. He worked hard out there - better than being in the basement.

Mike is learning to count again - or feel his fingers again - or....

Rolling with Kat and Paul - thanks for the photo shoot John.

At Aplington Casey's, Mike decided to swap out the sweaty gear for dry gear and to put on fresh feet warmers - he also swapped out other body base layers but those pictures are not for public viewing - you had to be there.
Mike and John turning the corner into the southerly headwind - getting closer to CF.

On West 12th street - the last few miles of gravel to the city limits of CF. Taking a break to regroup. Note the sun is beginning to make its downward push - long shadows. It was getting colder and need to finish this thing.

Mike and John - "I think I see Paul" yes - Paul is the Energizer Bunny - keeps going and going. Way to ride man.

Great day to be out - - the sun was out 2 days in a row! Tomorrow looks like freezing rain and a Blizzard headed to our neck of the woods for Sunday - you've got to get out when you can - looking forward to a full Hundy the next time - which is scheduled for???? Thanks for the ride.

  2. Nice report and pictures Kat. Thinking of the next long dirty ride??? How about racing Prairie Rude Days and finding some gravel to ride home? That could be a good ride on March 1st. Having crazy Jeff Yielding join us would be a real treat.
