Today was a great day for ridin' outside. Pete, Paul, and Mike left Bike Tech at 11 am with temps around 28 deg. The three of us headed west out of town to pick up Westbrook Ave. ridin' towards New Hartford. Took a little break in town to take the chill off and grab a bite to eat. It was off to do a loop around the New Hartford hills. Boy these are tough this time of year! By this time the wind was pickin' ip from the west. Needless to say we all were gettin' a little chilled. After one loop, which was enough, we began our return trip to Cedar Falls. Tryin' to keep the gravel theme today we turned left on to Vail Ave for a couple of miles and then headed east. This leg was fast with the wind to our backs. Enventually we hit the south leg of the Finchford-Roubaix course and came home on Ford Rd. 37 miles in 2 hrs 44 mins, not to shabby for some base miles.
Pete keepin' warm. He rode like this all day!
So did I!
Thanks for the great ride today Pete & Paul. The SALSA TOASTADA THREE-FINGER GLOVES were great Paul, thanks for lettin' me borrow them.
Looks like a really fine day of riding. This is a really good way to toughen up for what's to come...
ReplyDeleteBut I don't know about riding in that position down the powerline at Leadville, you may need to use your hands.
