Here's an article stolen from Cyclingupdate and our good friend Dave Maple and his All Nine Yards Cohorts. The race and the information below is produced, promoted and pronounced by brother Mike Johnson. This great race is only a month away. Are you ready?

| Spring MUST be near, as registration is now open for the April 13th Finchford-Roubaix Road Race. The race, hosted by Mike Johnson and the entire Bike Tech group, has both the feel of a fresh new race - and a long history of Spring racing.
A long long time ago, in a land (not so) far away, the town of Finchford hosted several road races - from an Olympic Trials trial points race thing to one of the first Collegiate bike races in 1989.
Mike Johnson, Race Director, is excited to have an expanded menu of races and an deeper prize list this year. In response to the new-found enthusiasm in women's racing, Johnson is offering a $205 prize list for the Cat. 4 Women. And, with the aging of Adamson - there is a $255 prize list for Masters 60+ and an additional $255 for Masters 50+! The total prize list this year is an impressive $2460! Racing starts with Jr.s Women and Cat 5s at 9:00am.
Look for big fields in all categories with money like this being thrown around! Riders can register by April 9th and save a buck or two. For information, times and location, click on www.finchford-roubaix.blogspot.com |
Hey John-
ReplyDeleteCollegiate has two separate seasons (road in the spring, mountain in the fall). There's quite a few mountain series out here that go on during road season. I'll probably mix it up some, focusing more on road until August/September. Hope all is well in Iowa!!
Check out Amanda's blog - link on the left - and read about her amazing first races of the season. She is an excellent example of how the really good guys can race anything - anywhere.
