Long and Grinding Road Race Lake MacBride

Finally a race to report - Mike Johnson, Kat Porter, John Adamson, Paul Meyermann and Richard Gilmore along with 30(?) other racers showed up for the Too Bee Racing event Saturday at Lake Macbride. A great day to race with dry and cool conditions. Racing for two hours on a 1.3 mile lap with one good climb made for a long and grinding event definitely. Mike is ready to race!
Kat and John suited up with sweet Amy always taking care of us - pinning all of our race numbers and taking our pictures - thank you!

And so look who showed up - none other than Paul Meyermann - way to go Paul - his first road race ever?

All lined up and ready for the start! A great turn out and some great racing.

And we're off.

Coming down the back stretch back to the parking lot. The course is really nice with a nice long climb out of the parking area then a sharp left turn at the top with a hard short rise that leads to the downhill section - long and curvy with left hand turns down into the parking area.
Recap in the parking lot after the race - Kat won her category (and a plate of scotch-a-roos) with some help from Mike J for a few laps which helped to put some good distance between her and the other woman at the race - a Cat 3 collegiate racer for Notre Dame. John had a great race today as well - bringing home the giant apple pie for his efforts. Mike and Richard were in great form as well and again, way to go Paul - nice to put it out there. Nothing else like racing.
Look for reports from some of the other racers - this is all I've got for now. Get out and ride/race.
