Gravel Sunday

Carey Fry, Kat and John headed out for some sunshine and gravel Sunday - Carey's first time on gravel with some company - it was very good gravel - meaning - little or no gravel for the most part and hard packed surfaces. The route took us west on 12th then zig zag south towards Hudson and tailwind into Waterloo. A good 40+mile ride - nice to get in this time of year as we are training for X racing. SW winds and sun greeted us and then NW winds and clouds at the end.

Out of practice with the over the shoulder shots - but got a shot of Carey and myself as we hit the tailwind section heading towards Waterloo. A longer ride today supplementing the build efforts going into the 'A' Cross race at the end of the month.
John in fine form as always and Carey on her gravel bike with new cassette and 'frog' pedals.
Some corn still standing but combines were out - Kat and Carey - (nice shot John) - temps were in the 40s? Sun and with a tailwind - got heated up pretty quickly.

Ended up downtown Waterloo at La Chiquita for the great mexican buffet - pork and chicken in green chile sauce, refried beans, mexican rice, pork posole, nopales, mini chimis, beef, chicken, & more pork in the mexican way, fideo, and more. Plates piled high, hot corn and flour tortillas at the ready - a sampling of everything. What a way to end a gravel ride - you all should join in on the fun and food. Next Time then.

Finale. A job well done.
