Old Towne Vande Cross

BikeTech was ready to race hard at the 2nd race in the DICE series of X races. It was a cold, windy (I thought) and cloudy day for racing. The course was very sweet - starting off with pavement then a 180 turn back and onto the grass with some bumpy switchback grass sections into the NW winds - over a set of barriers and then more switchbacks leading into a steep drop to the only damp sort of good mud section of the course. A nice winding route including a sand pit area then a lumpy route around to the ball diamond(?) and then into a flying two tier downhill up to a sidewalk then onto the sort of technical sections of a very steep down hill - sharp left and steep sharp right onto gravel that went into another short steep climb into the grass flats and then into a barrier and steep run up. BikeTech made a great showing - Landon - 1st place Master 50, John - 2nd place Master 50, Richard and Mike - in the mix along with Blue racing well and finishing strong. Steve placed in the money for the 123's as well as KAT - 4th place Women's Open for the money.

Kat lining up with the Dice women - Deb and Lindsey - great to race with these gals and the rest of the women's field from The Cutters.
Mike and our good friend from HBA - Chris Reed - lining up for the Cat 3/4s race - excellent racing and what a super course. Switch backs - bumpy lumpy sections, some steep rollers - tight turns and sand.
Mike holding off the competition - and did he race hard! Way to throw it down and to throw up! Kat witnessed the spewage.
Steve and Carl lining up for the 123's race - both finishing in the money. And look at Robin lining up for her second race of the day after running away with the win in Women's Open race earlier - she has been racing very well this season - look out!
Masters 30, 40 &50 - lining up - Kim West always out to throw down and look at all the BikeTech jerseys - Landon ran away for the win and the rest of us just chased. Kat decided on racing again in the Master's category - Racing was the only way to stay warm out there,.Richard coming off the windy grass switch backs into the off camber section.
Kat on one of the turns in the Master's race - this led into a short off-camber section and on to the sand section.

Blue powers his way to the top of the run-up.

Carl in fine form carrying power and speed into the barrier and on to the run-up.
John clearing the sand pit on his way to a 2nd place finish in his Master's class - way to race - awesome finish!
Steve holding his position as he approaches the sand pit. Steve finished in the money! Way to race and always great to see him throw it down with the 123s

A great race in what is the 2nd in the DICE series - 2 more to come - PsycloFest and Middle Park - put it out there - a great way to get ready for Jingle Cross which coming up very soon.

Get out there.
