Winter Training

Finishing out Week 1 of the Winter Training Plan which called for 4 hours on the Mtn. Bike today. Not wanting to be on rollers (especially on a mtn bike) for the prescribed workout - opted to get out into the fresh air - some sunshine, some pavement and gravel.

Still able to take the over the shoulder shot on the bike -

No other takers to John's invitation to join the effort - headed west on 27th Street to T55. Continued to head west on 130th street crossing T55. Hard surface road conditions not too bad given the additional dusting of snow that fell over night. Clear tracks to follow until we hit the gravel. The gravel was very good - grippy snow and very few ice patches lurking under the snow. A few dogs to contend with. Sun and light winds from the WNW made for a nice light tempo ride to Hwy 14. Turned around there for a sweet tailwind back to CF.

Pit stop for John to use his technology tools to communicate home.

Oh - here is the darn contraption - the right one! John can now Phone Home. Icicles can qualify as additional antennae I think.

Week 1 of the Plan done. 3:30 bike time - a little short of the prescribed 4. The Plan calls for long hours of building base on the Mtn Bike - would be glad to share the time and effort with anyone who wants to join in. Will send out information - come on out if you can and your 'plans' allow.
