Train On

Back from the Mtns of Colorado - epic racing and mtn bike training rides. Firecracker 50 (USAC Marathon Nationals) was spectacular and a tough race. Thinking about it for next year.....again....

Followed by some Mtn bike training in Crested Butte and topped off with the Triple ByPass - 3 Mtn Passes (really 4 Squaw, Juniper, Loveland and Vail) 10,300 feet of climbing - a total of 120 miles for the day.
With a day or two of recovery decided to venture out on the Tuesday Night World Championships - A nice group met behind the bike shop - Kevin making his mark - with Blue, Jackal, Craig, Will and Jeremy looking on. Added to the roster not pictured are Steve B., Chris from the shop and Sean from Rockford - here for work riding an S-works of course.
The roll out through town - heading to Union Road - the route is the Finchford/Janesville loop. Hoping to hang on with stiff SE winds - it will be fast and furious with the tail winds at the start.
Thanks Craig for the pulls - Was hoping to stick with Blue - who took the early Stop Ahead Sign at Union and 1st Street - way to race. Zoom in to see Blue's Peace Sign. Had plans to ride with Blue and Chris from the shop... where were you guys???

Didn't see Blue after the effort towards Finchford - had to stick with the 'Other' guys. Got shelled out the back going into Turkey Foot so waited for the regroup on the 3-tier hill out of Finchford. Will Greenwood was leading the way - got back on for a great tempo effort out of Janesville and back south to town on Wagner Rd. Tried to stick with the group - but Got dropped nearing C57.
Training continues - come out for some long Gravel Grinders on the week-ends for the next couple of weeks. Watch the posts for more information.
