A few Twisted Spokes had an opportunity to race in the first of Exergy US Grand Prix series in Sun Prairie, WI - the outskirts of Madison. The following pictures courtesy of Cycling News and VeloNews.  The elite men were well represented with 2010 National Cyclocross Champion Todd Wells toeing the line.

This race had more than 1000 racers Pregistered. Planet Bike has put on this event for several years - with the last 3 years at UCI level. One of the reasons that the 2011 US National Cyclocross Championships will be held in Madison (Verona - suburb) this coming January 5 - 8th. Here's your chance to participate in big time racing - a lot of age categories - you never know.....

Bunny Hopping the Barriers - the Pros make it look easy. Jeremy Powers doing his thing.

Nicole Duke leading the run up. Course was a little over 1.5 miles with wide open sections and a few tight twisty places.
Saturday conditions were mostly dry for our races - the W3/4s and Men's Master 55+.

Sunday was a different story with quite a bit of rain making for very classic cyclocross conditions - lots of Mud. Landon - self portrait - did very well - 5th in M55+ Congratulations!

More to come. Think Now about your calendar - take a look at the very active Iowa Cyclocross Season. Some of us will be racing Altoona, Morgan's Cross, Bobber's, Perkins Park to name a few. And Jingle Cross is right around the corner. If you want to race and share the ride - contact us - leave a comment - send an e-mail. You know where to find us.
