Road Trip

A few pictures to record the Road Trip this last weekend with Kim, Amy and John to FreeWheel Bike Shop in Minneapolis to pick up the mountain bike that will be my ride for a certain epic race in Colorado this year.
My BikeTech consultants recommended the Gary Fisher Superfly - Really hard to get in any size any where, but Josh (thanks a bunch) at FreeWheel managed to get this for me much to my pleasant surprise NOW instead of June.

I had Josh put on XTR pedals and a different saddle. Dialed in the rest of the measurements for my fit.Did some shopping naturally while waiting - great service, selection of bikes , clothing and accessories. Amy and I definitely liked it all.On the bike and ready to roll after some adjustments and swap outs.Look at all those bikes - what a shop - you've got to get up there sometime soon.John wanted his turn on the bike naturally. He got in touch with his feminine side with we three women - recipe swapping, clothing discussions, hair cuts and styles, you know - the usual.
After getting the bike back from John - had to ask nice, took the bike outside for a spin around the Westbank neighborhood of University of MN.
Kim found a bike she liked but only room to bring one bike home that day - might have to go back for it.
Amy found a ride she liked as well - take some notes Mike.
Home to the HOP - Casual observers - Mike (he has is own Superfly - found it while looking for mine) Robert and Pete looking over the bike.
Now if I could get out of the basement and take it for a real ride. Thanks to my support crew for helping me to bring it home. Its all good.

  3. If anything, this post should open the eyes of every bike retailer in the CF/Waterloo. It's pretty interesting when a customer will drive 3 hours to get a bike.

  4. Jeff - Mike did the same to get his bike in Madison the week before. And believe me - we want to shop locally.
Hopefully, we can continue to get the services and accessories we need in town.

  5. Oh, I believe you. It's a growing problem. In most cases....it's not the customers fault.
