CHECK IT OUT

Mark Beatty
coming out of the barn zig zags
approaching Mt Krumpit
-a very difficult run up-
steep and muddy

Mark with the large group of 45+ racers
Mark didn't have the day he was hoping for
but
he had a very respectable 20th out more than 40 competitors.
He is back in the gym - looking forward to next season

John was hoping for a 65+ race but had to settle for the 55's event.
A good day of racing and was happy with the 7th place finish out of the field of 17 masters

Run and jump.
This led to a muddy off camber lumpy bumpy ride along the bleachers onto an off-camber dash to the barns and then then the Mt. Krumpet run-up -yippee.Coming down the backside of Krumpet - The driest this down hill run has been in 3 years!
The Fly Over - Steep and shallow Stairs to the top. Had to hang on to the bike and not fall backwards!
Richard ready for the stairs.
Richard, one of the most dependable and regular racers in Iowa
showed up for duty and was satisfied with his Master's 55+ race
Kat drilling the down hill - so nice to not fly through mud this year. The run-up is always epic steep - and always wet - which means muddy! Kat in the Master's 55+ race chasing down the experienced racers - a warm up for the next race which was the Master's W35+.
Kat had a 10th in the Men's 55+ Cat
and
4th in the Women's 35+ group
Landon in fine form - chasing hard - lives for X-racing.
Landon beat John AGAIN
earning 6th place in the 55+ group
Well done Twisted Spokes all around - Sunday race report to follow.

  1. The sun makes it look warm. Deceiving! Better than snow. We really had a pretty good fall. Next year we will need to keep practicing for Nationals in Madison. Right?

  2. Yeah, Landon - What are we going to do to step it up for 2011 Nationals. It is going to take some serious work. Sophisticated training plan, focus and hard work. Bring it on. Maybe the focus for the entire season???
